The Cisco C9400-LC-48HN is a 48-port 10/100/1000 RJ-45 line card with high-density UPOE+ at 90 W per port for the Catalyst 9400 chassis running IOS XE. It differs from the HX variant in that it lacks multigigabit capability: ports are limited to Gigabit Ethernet (1G max), but the UPOE+ power at 90 W per port (IEEE 802.3bt Type 4) remains identical. This makes it the ideal solution for powering high-consumption devices over an existing Gigabit network without a bandwidth migration.

It targets deployments where maximum per-port power is the priority — digital signage panels, biometric access control systems, interactive displays — with no requirement to exceed 1G per endpoint.
