S10G-ER-PM-D-I — SFP+ 10 Gbps

The S10G-ER-PM-D-I from Cisco is a long-reach 10 Gbps SFP+ module on single-mode fibre (SMF), compliant with the IEEE 10GBASE-ER standard and fitted with an LC (UPC) duplex connector. With a reach of up to 40 km, it is dimensioned for metropolitan or inter-campus links on single-mode fibre, within an industrial thermal range of -40 to 85°C.

The S10G-ER-PM-D-I targets operators and large enterprises that need to carry 10G traffic between sites tens of kilometres apart without signal regeneration. Its 40 km reach clearly distinguishes it from the S10G-LR-PM-D-I (10 km) and the S10G-SR-PM-D-I (150 m), justifying its use for inter-POP or inter-datacenter links.
