The QSFP-40G-SR-BD is a Cisco QSFP+ 40 Gbps transceiver certified to the IEEE 40GBASE-SR-BiDi standard, operating over duplex multimode fiber (MMF) with an LC UPC connector. Its BiDi (bidirectional) technology transmits both directions over a single fiber of each pair, doubling the utilization of existing MMF infrastructure with a reach of 150 m. Operating range: 10 to 70 °C.
This BiDi module is the ideal solution for datacenters and campuses looking to migrate to 40 Gbps by reusing their existing duplex MMF cabling deployed for 10G, without laying new parallel cables.
