GLC-BX40-U-I — SFP 1 Gbps

The GLC-BX40-U-I from Cisco is a ruggedised BiDi 1 Gbps SFP transceiver for single-mode fibre, covering 40 km on a single strand in the upstream direction (U = Upstream). Unlike the GLC-BX80-U-I which reaches 80 km, this module targets intermediate distances up to 40 km, offering a balance between reach and cost for regional links. Its thermal range of -40 to +85 °C allows operation in outdoor cabinets or unconditioned premises.

This module pairs with the GLC-BX40-DA-I (downstream direction) to form a complete 40 km BiDi pair over a single fibre strand, ideal for access networks, radio backhaul links, or interconnections between remote industrial sites.
