It supports MPLS Fast Reroute, BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, L2/L3 switching, and AES encryption, with comprehensive management via SNMP, SSH, and CLI. Its modular chassis accommodates up to 4 expansion slots.
More compact than the MX960, the MX240 targets service providers and large enterprises seeking an edge or aggregation router with very high processing capacity without occupying the space of a high-density chassis.
