The Cisco Catalyst C9300-24S (SKU: C9300-24S) is a 1U stackable switch in the Catalyst 9300 series, unique in the lineup for its 24 front-panel 1G SFP ports — no copper RJ-45 ports whatsoever. With no PoE, it is optimised for short- and long-distance fibre optic links. It features the UADP 2.0 ASIC, IOS XE, and 256-bit MACsec, with a modular uplink slot and StackWise 1 Tbps stacking across 8 devices.

Its natural home is distribution cores or telecommunications rooms where all connections are fibre-based — inter-building links, SFP uplink aggregation from access switches, and industrial environments sensitive to electromagnetic interference.
