The HPE Aruba JL727A is a 1U access switch combining 48 class 4 1G PoE+ ports and 4 1G/10G SFP+ uplinks, with a 370 W PoE budget. Under AOS-CX, it includes L3 routing functions, VLAN segmentation, and traffic analysis. Compatibility with Aruba Central enables zero-touch deployment and centralized cloud-based administration, ideal for distributed IT teams.
The JL727A is positioned for large access infrastructures where 10G SFP+ uplinks to the distribution layer are sufficient without requiring a step up to 25G. This switch represents an excellent compromise for campuses whose distribution layer remains at 10G, while still supporting up to 48 simultaneous PoE+ powered devices.
