The JL486A is an HPE Aruba 25 Gbps SFP28 module for single-mode fiber, compliant with the 25GBASE-LR standard. With a reach of 10 kilometers via an LC duplex connector, it covers long-distance inter-site links or connections between remote equipment in a metropolitan network — where MMF technologies cannot reach.

This transceiver targets multi-building enterprise networks, hosting providers, or operators requiring 25G over long distances on SMF.
