The FN-TRAN-SX is a Fortinet SFP module for 1 Gbps links over multimode fiber, offering a maximum reach of 550 m. Compliant with the 1000BASE-SX standard, it uses a Duplex LC connector and operates within a commercial temperature range of 0 to 70 °C. It is compatible with SFP and SFP/SFP+ interfaces across Fortinet platforms, including FortiGate, FortiSwitch, and FortiAP.
This transceiver is particularly well suited for connections between distribution switches and servers within a datacenter or enterprise campus, leveraging existing multimode fiber infrastructure.
