The FN-TRAN-SFP-1BU40 is a Fortinet BiDi (bidirectional) Upstream SFP module operating at 1 Gbps over single-mode fiber. Via an LC simplex connector, it provides a 1000BASE-BX-U link over 40 km using a single fiber strand for both transmission directions — it must be paired with its counterpart FN-TRAN-SFP-1BD40 (Downstream) at the far end.
This 1G BiDi pair is suited for operators and enterprises looking to double the capacity of their existing single-mode fiber cabling over distances up to 40 km. The FN-TRAN-SFP-1BU40 forms the Upstream end of the link. LC simplex connector, operating range: 0-70 °C. Genuine Fortinet hardware, manufacturer warranty.
