The PAN-SFP-PLUS-ER-BXD-80 is a Palo Alto Networks 10 Gbps BiDi SFP+ transceiver in the D (downstream) direction, supporting single-mode LC simplex links up to 80 km compliant with the 10GBASE-BX-D standard. Using BiDi technology, it transmits and receives over a single fiber strand via two distinct wavelengths, reducing cabling infrastructure requirements over very long distances. The operating temperature range is 0 to 70 degrees C.

This module is used in conjunction with its BXU-80 counterpart (U direction) to establish a 10G link over a single SMF strand up to 80 km — typically for metropolitan or inter-campus links.
