The Extreme Networks MGBIC-02 is a 1 Gbps copper SFP transceiver (1000BASE-T), fitted with a standard RJ-45 connector and supporting a reach of 100 m over Cat5e or higher cabling. This copper SFP format allows an optical port on an Extreme Networks switch to connect directly to Ethernet equipment via twisted-pair copper cable.
