SFP-OC48-LR2 — SFP 2.488 Gbps

The Cisco SFP-OC48-LR2 is a 2.488 Gbps SFP transceiver compliant with the OC-48/STM-16 standard, for single-mode fiber (SMF) with an LC (PC or UPC) connector. Its 40 km reach in LR2 mode makes it the long-distance reference in the Cisco OC-48 family, to be compared with the IR1 variant (15 km) for shorter-reach deployments. The OC-48 rate of 2.488 Gbps is characteristic of high-capacity SONET backbone networks.

This module is intended for operators and equipment vendors running SONET/SDH STM-16 networks over long distances, such as regional backbone links or inter-node connections.
