The SFP-GE-S is a Cisco 1 Gbps SFP module, compliant with the IEEE 1000BASE-SX standard, over multimode fibre (MMF) with an LC (UPC) connector and a reach of 1000 metres over duplex cable. Its extended temperature range of -5 to 85°C sets it apart from the GLC-SX-MM (0-70°C), making it suitable for installations in environments with variable temperatures. The 1000BASE-SX over MMF ensures stable throughput on existing multimode fibre infrastructure.
