With a 40 km reach via a duplex LC (UPC) connector, it enables long-distance optical links without signal regeneration equipment, unlike the SFP-10G-ER-S which carries additional certification for certain Cisco platforms.
This transceiver suits enterprise WAN architectures and metropolitan links where distances exceed the coverage of LR modules.
