The QSFP-4X10G-LR-S from Cisco is a 40 Gbps QSFP+ module on single-mode fibre (SMF), compliant with the IEEE 10GBASE-LR standard, fitted with an MPO-12 (APC) connector for a parallel fibre architecture. Its per-lane reach of 10 km and QSFP+ form factor enable four 10 Gbps links to be routed over parallel SMF fibres, with an operating temperature range of 0 to 70°C.
This module is intended for long-distance networks requiring a 40G breakout to four 10GBASE-LR links on single-mode fibre, typically for inter-datacenter or inter-campus connections over existing MPO cables.
