The FET-40G is a Cisco QSFP+ 40 Gbps transceiver dedicated to Fabric Extender (FEX) architectures, operating over multimode fibre (MMF) with a reach of 150 meters. It uses an MPO-12 (UPC) connector and parallel fibre cabling, compliant with the Cisco Fabric Extender standard. Its key characteristic is its specific use in FEX (Nexus) topologies, distinguishing it from general-purpose SR4 modules: it is designed for the link between a Nexus parent switch and its fabric extenders.
This module is intended for network teams deploying Cisco Nexus architectures with Fabric Extender (2100/2200 series), enabling the fabric to be extended over MMF up to 150 meters.
