The DS-SFP-FC8G-LW is a Cisco SFP+ transceiver dedicated to 8 Gbps Fibre Channel in longwave (LW) mode over single-mode fibre (SMF), with a maximum reach of 10 km. Fitted with an LC (PC or UPC) connector and operating from 0 to 70°C, this module is designed for 8G FC generations that still equip many production storage environments. Its SMF reach eliminates the distance constraints imposed by MMF-based solutions.
This module suits 8G SAN infrastructures requiring long-distance links between Cisco MDS switches, storage arrays or 8G HBAs distributed across multiple buildings or nearby sites. It enables existing 8G Fibre Channel SANs to be maintained and extended over SMF. Genuine Cisco hardware, manufacturer warranty.
