The DS-SFP-FC32G-LW is a Cisco SFP+ longwave (LW) Fibre Channel transceiver, supporting speeds of 32G (28.05 Gbps), 16G (14.025 Gbps) and 8G (8.5 Gbps) over single-mode fibre (SMF). Its 10 km reach on SMF fundamentally differentiates it from the SW variant (100m on MMF): it enables inter-site or inter-building SAN links without repeaters. LC (PC or UPC) connector, compliant with FC-PI-6, SFF-8432, SFF-8472 and SFF-8431, operating from 0 to 70°C.
This LW reference is recommended for extending a Fibre Channel SAN over long distances, connecting remote datacenter rooms or enabling synchronous replication between sites.
