The FN-TRAN-QSFPDD-SR8 from Fortinet is a 400GE QSFP-DD transceiver compliant with the 400GBASE-SR8 standard, using 8 parallel channels over multimode fiber (MMF) via an MPO-16 connector. Its 100-meter reach makes it the short-range 8-lane solution in the lineup, suited for very high-density intra-datacenter interconnects. Operating temperature: 0 to 70 °C.
With its MPO-16 interface and 8 parallel MMF channels, the FN-TRAN-QSFPDD-SR8 differs from the FN-TRAN-QSFPDD-DR4 (4 SMF channels, 500 m) by leveraging existing multimode fiber in the datacenter, up to 100 meters.
